Assessment
Dr. Sogge offers confidential psychological assessments & performance-oriented mental skills assessments to determine psychological strengths & needs for optimizing:
- sport performance
- academic performance
- professional performance
- stress management
- health & body image
Dr. Sogge's psychological assessments and performance-oriented mental skills assessments include a private interview, formal standardized testing, and a follow up feedback session with recommendations for cognitive, affective and behavioral strategies that will build on your strengths and assist in overcoming barriers to optimal performance.
The difference between Dr. Sogge's comprehensive psychological assessments and her performance-oriented mental skills assessments is level of analysis. Dr. Sogge's comprehensive psychological assessments include an in depth professional assessment of personal history, present life factors, and personality variables, with a formulation of how these factors interact to produce present performance strengths & challenges. If necessary specific psychological assessments for cognitive, attentional, and mood problems will be included. By contrast, Dr. Sogge's performance-oriented mental skills assessments are present focused, and provide a snapshot of how the athlete or performer uses specific performance related psychological skills at the time of assessment.
Intervention
Dr. Sogge offers confidential individual psychological consultations and mindfulness & acceptance based psychotherapy to a select group of performance-oriented clients. Beginning in July 2010 Dr. Sogge's private practice services will be highly limited and will be focused primarily on athletes, aspiring athletes, and performance-oriented individuals who are interested in removing personal & psychological barriers to their optimal performance goals.
